What we collect, and why
When you send an enquiry
The form asks for your company, country, name and email address, and optionally a product, volume, delivery terms, delivery date and a message. We use it for one thing: to answer you, and to prepare and perform a supply contract if one follows. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.
If you reached us through an advertisement, the enquiry also carries the campaign reference from the link you clicked, so that we can tell which advertising brings real buyers. That part depends on your consent to measurement, described below; decline and no reference is kept.
Your enquiry is delivered to our mailbox and held in the site’s database as a fallback in case that delivery fails. We keep enquiries for three years from our last contact with you, or for as long as a contract and Bulgarian accounting law require, whichever is longer.
When you only read the site
Our host records ordinary server log data, including your IP address, the time, the page requested and your browser, to keep the site running and to defend it against abuse. That is our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The host keeps those logs for a short period and we do not use them to build a profile of anyone.
If you accept measurement
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are read, and Google Ads to see whether our advertising produces enquiries. None of it runs until you press Accept. Until then Google’s tag is held in a consent-denied state: it sets no cookies and stores no identifier on your device. The legal basis is your consent, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, and you can withdraw it at any moment through Cookie settings at the foot of any page.
If you have accepted and you then send an enquiry, we pass Google a one-way cryptographic hash of your email address so that the enquiry can be matched to the advertisement click. An address cannot be read back out of a hash, and we never send the address itself.
Cookies and similar storage
| Name | Set by | What it does | Life |
|---|---|---|---|
| ybf_consent | This site | Remembers whether you accepted or declined measurement. Set whichever you choose, because without it we would have to ask again on every page. | 6 months |
| ybf_attr | This site | Session storage, not a cookie. Carries the campaign reference of the advertisement you clicked as far as the enquiry form. Only written if you accepted. | Until the tab is closed |
| _ga, _ga_<id> | Google Analytics | Tells one reader from another so that visits can be counted. | Up to 2 years |
| _gcl_au | Google Ads | Links an advertisement click to an enquiry. | 90 days |
The last two are set only after you accept.
Who else sees it
- Google Ireland Limited, for Analytics and Ads, if you accepted measurement. Google may transfer data to the United States, which it covers by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
- Our hosting provider, SuperHosting.BG, in Bulgaria, which stores the site and its database on our instructions.
- Our email provider, which carries your enquiry to our mailbox.
Nobody else. We do not sell personal data and we do not pass it to other companies for their own marketing.
Your rights
You may ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, have it corrected or erased, have its use restricted, object to it, receive it in a portable form, and withdraw any consent you have given. Write to info.yankovbrothers@gmail.com and we will answer within one month.
If you believe we have handled your data wrongly, you may complain to the Bulgarian Commission for Personal Data Protection (2 Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov Blvd., Sofia 1592, cpdp.bg) or to the supervisory authority of the country you live in.
Automated decisions
We make none. Nothing we hold about you decides anything on its own.
